This website brings a group of experts together to provide a basis for understanding the theoretical and practical implications of platforms as new economic models in the digital economy. Our work focuses on three emerging themes which will dramatically change economic models for government:
-- Open government data and the new economic modles emerging as a result.
-- Enhanced government-focused technology infrastructure that is driving the platform.
-- Easier interaction with digitized government services to accelerate change.
-- Enhanced government-focused technology infrastructure that is driving the platform.
-- Easier interaction with digitized government services to accelerate change.
To enable success, we will bring together a highly experienced multi-disciplinary team to lead this effort, ensure impact through leveraging UK national professional bodies as the target for publication, and drive on-going delivery of results through the support of several major technology companies.
The result of this work will be a wide-ranging set of materials that will set out a provocative set of insights delivering major influence in defining targets for standards development, exposing lessons for how emerging platforms are driving the new digital economy, highlighting focus areas for public policy, and providing major opportunities on which UK entrepreneurs can base successful new government-focused enterprise companies.
